Intensifiers: Very & Really

O que são intensificadores?

Usamos very e really antes de um adjetivo para dar ênfase. Funcionam como "muito" ou "realmente".

The car is expensive. (O carro é caro.)
The car is very expensive. (O carro é muito caro.)
The coffee is really cheap. (O café é realmente barato.)

Dica: Very e really vêm ANTES do adjetivo, nunca depois.

Asking Prices — How Much?

Como perguntar o preço em inglês

Singular: How much is this bag? → It is $30.
Plural: How much are these shoes? → They are $60.

Regra: is para singular, are para plural.

"How much is this T-shirt?" — Quanto custa esta camiseta?

"It is twenty-five dollars." — São vinte e cinco dólares.

"How much are the sneakers?" — Quanto custam os tênis?

"That is really expensive!" — Isso é muito caro!

"What a bargain!" — Que pechincha!

Como ler preços em inglês

Para $4.50: "Four dollars and fifty cents" ou "Four fifty"

$4.99 → "Four ninety-nine"
$5.49 → "Five forty-nine"
$8.00 → "Eight dollars"
$120.00 → "One hundred and twenty dollars"
$950.00 → "Nine hundred and fifty dollars"
